HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn declared the Parliament open yesterday on behalf of His Majesty the King, marking the "good beginning of democratic rule" following a year-long hiatus.

"I am confident that every member of Parliament is aware of the situation threatening our country. Your mission is, therefore, of the utmost importance: to quickly restore stability in every way in order to achieve national solidarity and normalcy," the prince said in his opening speech.
"It is vitally important that all consultations and deliberations in Parliament should proceed with reason, righteousness and cooperation, keeping in mind that security, safety and the happiness of the country and the people is paramount."
