The government will ask to move up the date for the policy debate in Parliament to within this week instead of next Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat said on Tuesday.
He was speaking ahead of the weekly Cabinet meeting to review the final draft of the policy statement.
"The government wants to deliver the policy statement as soon as possible although it is up to Parliament to schedule the date," he said.
Somchai said he revised the policy statement four times to factor in the platforms of the six coalition parties.
The Cabinet is expected to approve the statement draft which covers about 14 to 15 urgent policies geared to improve the people's livelihood and the southern violence, he said.
