The prosecution on Wednesday called on police to track down fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra after he decided not to appeal a guilty verdict. He is said to be in Dubai.
Sirisak Tiyaphan, director-general of the Office of the Attorney-General's International Affairs Department, said the police should start looking for Thaksin and inform the prosecution of his whereabouts.
According to Mr Sirisak, the police should coordinate with the Foreign Ministry and their missions overseas in locating Thaksin.
The prosecution would closely follow up with the police, he said.
Mr Sirisak said that an extradition request has been drafted, ready to be adapted to fit the extradition laws of any country where Thaksin seeks exile.
He noted that lack of an extradition treaty with a country in which Thaksin stays is not necessarily an obstacle as Thailand could offer a reciprocal deal.
Thaksin's latest whereabouts is said to be Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, which has no extradition treaty with Thailand.
Seksan Bangsomboon, the chief public prosecutor for special cases, said the Ratchadaphisek land case is final.
He said he will submit Thaksin's document in which he waived his appeal to Mr Sirisak for use in seeking the extradition.
The convicted ex-premier's phone-in to the Kwam Jing Wan Nee (Truth Today) talk show at the Supachalasai stadium has been pushed forward by one day to Dec 13 from Dec 14.
People Power party MP Jatuporn Promphan, also a host of the talk show, said organisers moved the show forward a day, which Thaksin agreed to.
The talk show has been advanced because Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over a function at the Nimitbutr indoor stadium which is next door.
Mr Jatuporn said the highlight of Thaksin's phone-in will involve his plan to fight to return to politics.
Mr Jatuporn also said his associates will go to the United States Thursday to visit former prime minister Samak Sundaravej, who is being treated for cancer in Houston.
He said Mr Samak will be asked to call in to address his supporters during the mobile talk show at Wan Suan Kaew in Nonthaburi on Sunday .
About 50 supporters of the deposed prime minister Wednesday rallied in front of the British embassy, demanding clarification over the United Kingdom's cancellation of entry visas for Thaksin and his ex-wife Khunying Potjaman.
The protesters led by Amarin Pachonyuth also handed over more than 1,000 postcards saying "Save Thaksin, Save Democracy" to the embassy.
