People Power Party (PPP) MP Jatuporn Promphan yesterday promised to revive the pro-government PTV station to counter ASTV, which is run by the People's Alliance for Democracy.
He said ASTV had ruined the democratic system by distorting the facts about the PPP-led administration. The public should get accurate information from PTV, he said.
PTV was founded by pro-Thaksin Shinawatra politicians after the military ousted Thaksin in the September 2006 coup. The station stopped broadcasting shortly after the PPP won last year's election.
