Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont will open his residence on Khao Yai Thiang mountain in Nakhon Ratchasima to the media on Sunday.

The PM said he is scheduled to preside over the opening ceremony for the Fespics Games in the province on the same day.

The house will be open in the morning and lunch will be provided, after which he will leave for the opening ceremony, he said.

Surayud said earlier that he would open the house to the media to prove that its acquisition was made in a transparent manner. He wanted the press to see his home at Khao Yai Thiang after being subject to criticism that it encroached upon a national reserve. The PM had been forced to postpone the original plan to open the house during the mourning period for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.
