The Thailand Tigers Australian Football Club will host the 5th Annual ANZAC Commemorative Match in Kanchanaburi tomorrow. This year sees Asian football powerhouses the Jakarta Bintangs invading Thai shores with their eyes on the prestigious ANZAC Cup.
The Bintangs are coming to Thailand on a high, after beating the Laos Elephants last weekend in Vientiane and a recent win over archrivals the Bali Geckos.
Add this to the fact that Jakarta beat Thailand when the two sides met in the 2007 Asian Champs, and you would think the boys from Indonesia must be very confident going in to the big clash.
A lot has changed for the Thaigers since last July though as they enjoyed two comprehensive wins against Laos and Vietnam in November last year, and have picked up several 'young' recruits over the past few months.
A special part of the game is the attendance of the Quiet Lions tour, which brings up more than 100 people from Australia for the ANZAC services, including former POWs who worked on the infamous 'Death Railway' back in the World War II.
