Intel Partner Programme Comes to Thailand

To provide Thai software houses access to Intel's leading technologies and platforms

In order to help strengthen local software development, Intel Microelectronics, together with Software Park Thailand, has launched the Intel Software Partner Programme to provide Thai software houses access to Intel's leading technologies and platforms.

Intel Software and Solutions Group's Partner Program Organisation global director Scott Harrison said the programme will provide Thai software companies a wide range of services including technology, sales and marketing resources.

Thai software companies will also get consulting services for planning their business-insight training and Intel technology roadmaps.

They can leverage the Intel advantage for advertising, co-marketing campaigns through the Intel Developer Solutions Catalogue, which will allow them to showcase their applications globally.

Participating software companies will be certified by Intel and get an "Intel Software Partner" logo for marketing use.

To participate in the programme, software companies can register as a member, free of charge, at www.intel.com/partner/pha .

Members will be offered software-development tools free of charge for a 45-day trial period. If they decide to continue using the multi-core technologies and platforms past the trial period, they would need to purchase a licence, available at a 50-per-cent discount.

Software houses can access Intel's virtual online commerce community at Intel Business Exchange to market their software suites to global customers.

"Members can participate in the Intel Business Exchange where they will gain access to an online marketplace for small- and medium-sized enterprises. Potential buyers can search, select and purchase software solutions developed by Thai companies and certified by Intel," Harrison said.

Thailand is the first country in southeast Asia and the third country in the Asia-Pacific region, after China and India, where the Intel Software Partner Programme is available. About 100 Thai software companies and about 11,000 companies across the world are participants of the programme.

"Thai software companies will gain better access to new customers and stay on top with the latest software development, marketing and competitive trends. The Intel Software Partner Programme is Intel's step toward investing and fostering innovation in the Thailand software community," Harrison said.

Jirawit Maeprasart, business development manager of software systems-management provider Moscii Systems, is the first member is Thailand's first member. Two other companies, AI Soft and Team Work Solution have also applied for a membership.

Software Park Thailand director Suwipa Wannasathop said the park planned to support the programme by setting up training programmes for Thai software companies at the park's facilities. The programmes will consist of three tracks - CEO track, technical track, and university track.

"For the CEO track, we will invite Intel's executives to share their vision on technology trends and provide a global perspective of the market to Thai executives," Suwipa said.

The technical track will comprise a workshop by Intel's technical team to provide training to local software technicians. Finally, the university track will enable the park to join hands with Intel in providing a train-the-trainer programme for university professors to update them on the latest technologies.
